Construction of the new layout is still a long way off, but from time to time, the plans are reviewed and it is hoped that when we’re able to start, we’ll have a good idea of how it will all go in. For a long time, the track layout at Rickbacken has been based on the layout that we had at Lövhöjden (FLMJ), with two subtle additions (a siding and a trap point), but the layout at Töjnan has been rather unsettled. However, during October, a new and very workable plan was drawn – or rather, copied – from Eksjö, which is quite local to us. One key factor that enabled this was to recognise that the line to our workshop bench will be as an industrial siding, not as a branch line, so the divergence point, signalling and clearance points make this layout suitable.

Model News

MicroCity87 is preparing a 1:87 scale Volvo V90 model (2017 year model), which will have front wheel steering function. Anticipated price is €24,95. The V90 will be available in four options, in Black, Gold, Silver and White.
MicroCity (Beijing) Toy Model Co. Ltd., founded in May 2019, is a group of post-80s enthusiasts who are keen on the research, development and production of 1:87 (HO) scale car models, supporting scenes, action figures and accessories. Their website is at www.microcitymodels.com and is worth a look, though there is only the one Swedish product proposed for the time being.

A special train toured the route around lake Vättern mid-October, hauled by the ex-Austrian locomotive, 1043.001 (one of the ten extra Rc2 locomotives built for the ÖBB). At Nässjö, the train was greeted by X.995 (aka Rc4 1166), the loco that went to the USA for a year for trials. Naturally, this meeting was popular with photographers.
